Getting started

LAPO vs Nepo in LogosLife: how does the birth lottery work?

Compare the LAPO and Nepo starting budgets, homes and weekly rent in LogosLife, with a practical first-session plan for each option.

This guide covers LogosLife at lagoslifeapp.app. Figures and controls describe this version’s rules, checked against the game implementation on 10 October 2026.

The difference is your starting budget and home

LAPO begins with ₦15,000 and a Yaba Room Self. Nepo begins with ₦500,000 and a Lekki Apartment. Both starts use the same city, career choices and action-based clock. Nepo receives a car and starts as a Bank Branch Manager. Dad pays the rent for the Lekki apartment; LAPO finds a first job and pays its own rent. Neither start grants extra skill.

LAPO: a smaller-budget progression story

LAPO gives early decisions more weight. Reserve ₦6,000 for the next rent payment and use the rest carefully for food, travel and skill building. The first useful goal is a completed work shift, rather than an expensive home upgrade.

  1. Check your needs before leaving home.
  2. Choose an eligible career in Career; Banker is available at skill level zero.
  3. Travel to the Office while it is open and complete one shift.
  4. Keep the rent reserve, then decide whether to study or explore.

You can make “move from Yaba to Lekki” a personal challenge, but this is a suggested goal rather than a separate challenge mode or timed reward.

Nepo: a car, a career and sponsored rent

Nepo lets you try activities and study without needing an immediate paycheck. Dad covers the Lekki Apartment rent, so the ₦500,000 opening balance is available for fuel, food and activities. Moving to any other home means paying its rent yourself.

You already have a bank manager job. Buy fuel at Home, drive to the Office, or use the remaining budget to study at the Library or CcHub. A larger balance does not remove the hunger or energy requirements for work, so you still need a routine that keeps your character ready.

Can you change your start later?

Your birth background is stored separately from the story and cannot be changed. Settings offers Start a new life to create a different character, but does not reroll that background. That resets the current story for your account; export a backup first if you want to preserve it.

If your goal is simply a different home or career, you can change those within the current story instead. See the housing guide before moving and the save guide before resetting. These starting options describe LogosLife, not the onboarding rules of the separate original Lagos Life game.
