The beginner’s guide

Welcome to your first day in Lagos.

A little food, a first job and a plan for the week. Here’s how to get your story moving.

01 / Start here

Your first-day checklist

  1. Create an account. Use email and a password, or continue with Google. Then choose Play now.
  2. Create your character. Pick a name, avatar, personality and goal. Your account receives a fixed birth lottery result: LAPO begins with ₦15,000 in Yaba; Nepo begins with ₦500,000 in Lekki, a car and a bank manager job.
  3. Get ready at home. After the birth lottery, move straight into your 3D home. Select the bed, kitchen, shower, toilet or sofa to see an activity’s time and cost, then confirm it. Click an open floor tile to move your character. Drag to pan, right-drag to rotate and scroll to zoom; Reset view restores the camera. The status card shows movement and recent activities. Use Needs to check your character and Map to explore the city.
  4. Choose a career. Open Career and apply for a job that matches your skill level. Banker, Market Trader and Okada Rider do not require a starting skill level. Nepo already starts as a Bank Branch Manager.
  5. Go to work. Travel to the Office and complete a work shift. The Office is open from 6 AM to 10 PM. You need at least 20 energy and 15 hunger.
  6. Plan ahead. Set aside your next rent payment, then use the rest to explore and learn new skills.
💡 Start with one successful work shift. You can decide on a bigger goal once you know the city.

02 / Getting around

Explore the map

Drag to move the map and use the zoom controls to get a closer look. Select a place to see its activities, then walk or take a danfo to visit. Nepo players can buy fuel under My home and drive their car; driving consumes fuel. Use Show places to reveal the location names, or the location control to find your character.

Different places offer different activities. The Library and CcHub help you learn, parks and entertainment spots restore fun, and NPC visits let you build relationships. See the full directory of places and activities to plan your next trip.

03 / Everyday life

Keep your six needs in balance

Needs range from 0 to 100. Actions use game time, so travel, work and leisure can lower other needs while you improve one.

🍲Hunger

Eat at home or a food spot.

⚡Energy

Sleep or take a break.

🎉Fun

Visit entertainment spots and parks.

💬Social

Visit local characters and talk.

🫧Hygiene

Wash or shower at home.

🚽Bladder

Use the bathroom at home.

⏱️ While you play, five real seconds equal one game minute. Actions also advance time. Time and needs pause when you leave.

04 / Make a living

Find a career and grow into it

Start with a job you qualify for, work at the Office and build skills for your next move. Every three completed shifts unlock higher pay, up to five career levels.

05 / Settle in

Make a home, and remember Saturday

Weekly rent is charged when your game time crosses into Saturday. Moving requires enough money for the first week’s rent. For Nepo, Dad covers the Lekki apartment, including moving back there; other homes are paid by you. If a rent payment takes your balance below zero, earn more to clear the debt.

As your income grows, open Homes to move to a new place. Sea Plots also lets you buy a plot and add your name to the map.

06 / Come back anytime

Your account keeps your story

Your progress saves automatically while you play. Sign in to the same account on another device to continue. Wait for saving to finish before closing the page; Log out waits for the current save.

In Settings, you can export a JSON copy, import a previous story or start a new life. Starting a new life resets the story, but keeps your account’s birth background. Backups must match that background; export first if you want a copy.
